Plasma

Plasma technology is a fantastic solution for anyone wishing to achieve effects similar to those of plastic surgery, without having to go through a painful reconvalescence period. It is a true breakthrough in aesthetic medicine! An effective method of skin rejuvenation, reduction of flaccid skin, correction of the outline of the face, and correction of other aesthetic problems.

How does plasma technology work?

Plasma technology makes use of the phenomenon that is observable in nature, eg during a storm. Atmospheric discharges result in the creation of a huge amount of energy, and the emergence of a previously unknown fourth state of aggregation – plasma. We know that substances in our environment can exist in three states of concentration – solid, liquid and gas. It turns out, however, that in nature there is also a fourth state of aggregation, characterized in this case by a high temperature. It is the high temperature of plasma that allows it to be used effectively in aesthetic medicine procedures.

During the treatment, the tip of the device produces an electric arc that leads to the formation of plasma. Plasma, in turn, acts on the skin, causing evaporation of its surface layers. This immediately jumpstarts the body’s natural regenerating and reconstructing processes. All cavities are replenished and the skin structure is thoroughly rebuilt. This mechanism of action allows us to reach effects similar to that of plastic surgery through the use of plasma.

When do we use plasma treatments?

Plasma treatments are an excellent alternative to highly invasive, surgical methods of skin rejuvenation. They can be used to achieve maximum effect without requiring long term convalescence, and to revitalize areas which are difficult to treat using other procedures.

The best effects are achieved in:

  • Upper lid correction (blepharoplasty) – the treatment effectively removes excess skin
  • Excess skin removal from around the ears
  • wrinkle elimination, e.g. due to smoking, forehead wrinkles
  • Improves condition of mature skin on the neck – removes wrinkles, reduces skin flaccidity, reduction of double chin
  • Removal of skin changes such as fibroids, nevi, warts, lentil spots, telangiectasias
  • Acne treatment
  • Reduction of stretch marks of various origin (hormonal, post preganancy, weight-change related)

How does this procedure look? Is there any discomfort involved?

Plasma is a treatment performed under local anesthesia, and as such it does not present much risk for the patient. After the treatment, small scabs form on the skin – they are not to be scratched. The patient must wait until they fall off. During the convalescence period, which usually lasts twelve or so days, the skin should be cared for according to the doctor’s instructions – apply appropriate hygiene and care, and protect the skin from sunlight. Detailed information on this subject is always provided before and after surgery.

Benefits of using a plasma treatment

  • driving, improving elasticity and improving skin density,
  • reduced flaccidity
  • removal of excess skin that appeared over time,
  • removal of skin imperfections
  • reduction of wrinkles
  • correction of skin lesions, e.g. stretch marks and scars

What are the contraindications to carrying out plasma treatment?

Plasma treatments are very safe, provided they are carried out with the help of a very experienced specialist who will properly qualify patients for the procedure and strictly adhere to the procedure’s guidelines, adjusting it to the individual needs of the patient each time. Such targeted therapy, of course, requires many years of experience and a detailed interview.

One of the most important parts of the consultation before the surgery is the exclusion of possible contraindications, ie health problems which temporarily or permanently limit the possibility of performing the procedure.

Contraindications in the case of plasma therapy:

  • Active state of inflammation in target area
  • Systemic viral or bacterial infection
  • Tendency to form hypertrophic scars
  • Pacemaker
  • Epilepsy
  • Metal implants inside the body
  • Pregnancy or active period of breastfeeding
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Neoplasms
